New film on “Data Sources, Data Uses” produced by the HIV and AIDS Data Hub
“What is the value added by the HIV and AIDS Data Hub in Asia as compared to other regional data bases or websites on HIV?”
The Data Hub just produced a 20-minute-long documentary as an introduction to the importance of collecting and using most recent data on HIV. The film took advantage of the 9th ICAAP regional conference on HIV in Bali in August to dialogue with key experts and programme implementers on the most important data needs in the region. Interviews feature, among others, Michel Kazatchkine (GFATM), Jacques Jeugmans (ADB), Rico Gustav (APN+), Shivananda Khan (Naz Foundation); Amala Reddy (UNAIDS), Adeeba Kamarulzaman (Malaysian AIDS Council), Wing-Sie Cheng; (UNICEF/EAPRO); and Shiv Kumar (SWASTI).

Sex Work & HIV: Country Capsules
As the result of a collaboration between the Data Hub and UNAIDS, five country capsules on sex work and HIV have been produced for Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Myanmar and Nepal. Newly added to our website, each capsule presents an overview of sex work in the country, available data on HIV as it pertains to sex workers, as well as a description of the national response to sex work and HIV. The Data Hub welcomes your input in making our country capsules the most up-to-date as possible.

Regional Review of HIV & Migration
Adding to the 12 country capsules featured in last month’s E-News Flash, an HIV & Migration Regional Profile is now available online. This review documents HIV-related vulnerabilities and risk factors for migrants in the region, highlighting data availability and gaps.
